Since joining forces as Flavour, multi-saxophonist Bryne Donaldson and keyboardist/arranger Lawrence Ross have been stirring up a lot of grooving, soulful FOOD FOR THOUGHT throughout their home base in the Southwest. Their showcase unique, bold, yet sensual brand of “Groove Jazz” throughout the six track EP, most notably on the some what exotic and infectiously mystical radio hit “Savory”, the kickin’ old school alto jam “JazzMental” and the trippy Latin romp through War’s “Low Rider” they have reimagined as “Take a little Trip”. FOOD FOR THOUGHT is the perfect recipe for smooth urban jazz with lots of cool twists!~ JONATHAN WIDRAN (smoothjazz.com)”

The Recipe

Flavour was created by paring the talents of keyboard engineer and composer Lawrence Ross, with the big sound and delightful tones of saxophonist Bryne Donaldson. Formed in 2010 in Phoenix, AZ, the idea was a small footprint band with a big sound. The combination of Bryne’s old school, gospel influences and Lawrence’s new age sounds is a unique and exciting blend. The group started playing cover tunes in upscale restaurants, resorts and country clubs in the Phoenix area. The popularity of the group increased, and they established a following. When the recipe requires more singers and musicians, Flavour becomes "Moe Flavour", to include artists such as singer Rob Lyrics and other musicians. No matter the size, Moe Flavour can always be added.

Over the years Flavour developed their own sound started to work on original tunes and mixed them in their set list of cover tunes. The crowds loved the originals, which explains the original song ‘Savory’ reaching #28 on the smooth jazz charts in 2015 with little promotion. Since then, Flavour has released three EPs: "Food For Thought", "Hungry For More", and "Sunday Brunch With Flavour". Flavour has 2 upcoming projects including a joint EP with Rob Lyrics.

Currently Flavour can be found performing locally (Phoenix area venues) and nationally.  Online you will find Flavour performing live Facebook and YouTube shows, with over 25K followers.  The Sunday Morning Saxophone Devotion is live on Facebook and YouTube at 9am AZ time and includes personal interactions with our awesome followers. Also don't miss out on Saxagrams and Pop Ups. Saxagrams are personalized performances by Flavour that can be delivered in person (or online) similar to a "singing telelgram".
